Mr. Ab-licious

Standard

To say the last few months in my dating life have been adventurous would be a vast understatement. I’ve experienced the good, the bad and the ugly all in a short span thanks to the ever-popular online dating apps like Tinder and OkCupid. Though I’ve had some pretty decent luck lately – see this post – I’m learning not to put all my eggs in one basket. I guess you could say for the first time ever I’m not jumping head first into one crappy relationship after the next. I’m actually dating!

Now onto my latest Tinder-licious date. This guy’s Tinder page seemed pretty okay. Nothing great (some of the pictures were blurry) and his profile didn’t say much about him but I was semi-interested so I swiped right anyways. Within minutes I had a message waiting on me. I know, I know…this doesn’t exactly follow my Tinder Timeline but ya gotta live a little, right?

So there we are going through the pleasantries and small talk that most Tinder conversations consist of when the music preferences come up. I should pause to say how much of a big deal this is to me. I firmly believe that your preference in music says a lot about you. When it came out that my absolute favorite band was also in his top three I started to get an exciting feeling (butterflies of excitement, perhaps?!).

As the next few days passed we texted and had a couple phone calls that helped us get to know each other even more. I’m not typically a fan of the ab photos but this guy is a personal trainer and has a body to die for. I’m talking yummy-licious! To sum it up, we decided to meet for lunch one day this week. Turns out we were both so excited that we upped the lunch a day early — can we say extra butterflies?? The day comes and he meets me at my office building so we can walk to lunch together.

Lunch was great! We were both on a time limit so we didn’t have all afternoon to spend together but it was obvious that there was instant chemistry. The conversation was light but quickly turned to the more intimate details of our lives. Before I knew it lunch was over and it was time to walk back. As we walked he made sure he was on the outside of the sidewalk for “protection” purposes (cute) and insisted on opening the car door for me. Did I mention he’d also opened every door thus far and paid for lunch? Complete and total gentleman.

He takes me back to my car saying that if we had walked he would have gotten more time with me (it was raining and I didn’t want to ruin my hair) which I thought was totally adorable. We get to my car and I start getting that tingly feeling, like I’m on the brink of something incredible. He leans in for a hug and does just that…gives me a hug. No kiss on the first meeting just an incredibly sweet hug with plans to see each other soon.

I may have been excited before but I’m even more excited now. This guy seems like a total keeper! Not to diss any of my previous guy and whose to say where this will go but I’ve got my fingers crossed and an open mind!

Wish me luck!
