For the past year or so I had voluntarily taken myself off the dating market. After multiple attempts at first dates I was at a standstill. For one reason or another they just weren’t working out. I was in a different country for most of that year and had managed to keep myself busy with work, friends and me time – who doesn’t need that? Needless to say dating wasn’t at the top of my priority list.
Fancy restaurants starting to break the bank? Feel like there’s no new movies out? Tired of taking your lady for drinks at the same bars? Why not invite your honey over and spend a date night in? We’ve got 10 unique stay at home date ideas that will help impress your significant other while enjoying some quality time together.
To say the last few months in my dating life have been adventurous would be a vast understatement. I’ve experienced the good, the bad and the ugly all in a short span thanks to the ever-popular online dating apps like Tinder and OkCupid. Though I’ve had some pretty decent luck lately – see this post – I’m learning not to put all my eggs in one basket. I guess you could say for the first time ever I’m not jumping head first into one crappy relationship after the next. I’m actually dating!
Remember when you were in high school and went on your first real date? Your first date where you pick your girl up (or your man picks you up), you have no idea what to expect and first kiss anxiety is real. While trying to pinpoint where my love life has gone wrong, I went way back to my very first date in all its glory.
Dating season is now upon us (not that it ever actually went away but I personally go into some weird hibernation mode during the winter months where the only date I have involves my comforter and Netflix). Now that spring has sprung and the weather is warming up it’s time to get outdoors and show each other a little love. I’m personally getting a little over the typical coffee/dinner dates and wonder if there’s anyone out there spontaneous enough that’s been on – or will take me on – the following date idea.
We seem to focus a lot on dating disasters and catfishes here at D2D, but once in a while a love story comes along in the midst of all those dates gone wrong. One of our readers sent us her very own sweet story about finding love when she least expected it — and maybe when she needed it most.
Here ye, here ye… I am here to proudly announce that I have finally had my first Tinder triumph! Amidst all of the creepy messages, epically failed dates and filtering through all the main pics gone horribly wrong that my girlfriends and I have had to endure I may have finally found a seemingly normal guy on Tinder.
